Author and University of Washington professor Karen Litfin embarked upon a journey to many of the world’s ecovillages – intentional communities at the cutting-edge of sustainable living. I worked with Karen to design a book site that would not only inform readers, but inspire positive change.

“Thanks for producing such a beautiful site. I’m sure many people will learn and benefit from it.”

– Karen Litfin, Ecovillages author

A hub to inform, connect and inspire

From the outset, we realized that building a website simply to sell books wasn’t going to cut it. We needed a site that would supplement the printed text, while inspiring readers. To meet this goal, I designed a section of the site to showcase ecovillage life “at a glance”.

Much of the discussion and activity surrounding the book centers on social media updates and Karen’s popular YouTube videos, so also included is a section to enable visitors to Like the official Facebook page and subscribe to Karen’s YouTube channel without ever leaving the site.
