About

A bit about myself.

I'm really excited to be starting my first company!

I graduated from the University of Washington in 2006, having studied, among other things, avant-garde film, electroacoustic composition, and, y'know, lasers and stuff.

"What kind of job can you get with that?" you may be asking.  Weirdly, "many!" as it turns out.

I traveled for a while with a documentary film crew, did some freelance video work, and worked for a while in the warehouse of a staging company that specializes in 50 foot projections of Bill Gates' head.

I've always been a big music nerd and I eventually found my way through the doors of a Seattle-based digital music company where I began taking on more IT and media work.

After that, I worked as a contractor and freelancer making websites for metal bands and making sure they had tons more myspace friends than anyone else.

Since then I've been designing & developing for a more diverse client base, which now means not everything I make has to be all black backgrounds and outer glow effects.  In the process, I'm enjoying always learning more about design and getting to apply what I've learned to the next project.

I thoroughly enjoy the process of

  • discovering each new client's goals,
  • learning both what is important to them and why it's so important, and
  • piecing together the story of how they got to be where they are while helping them draft the next chapter.

ScreenThumb's mission is to create dynamic & effective online presences that meaningfully engage their intended audience, even as styles and expectations change.
